From the pit to the track
The last Statics tasks
The last few days at FSG have been exciting, challenging and full of valuable experiences. We have completed all statics, which consist of the business plan presentation, the team's cost and manufacturing report and the car's engineering design event. The Business Plan Presentation went well and we received exciting and helpful feedback on our business case, which we are happy to incorporate for the next event. Unfortunately, the other two static disciplines did not go quite as well as the Business Plan Presentation, but we are grateful for the detailed feedback from the judges on these, so we now know what we need to work on for Italy and also for the next season. FSG is one of the most demanding events in the world and we are proud to have made it this far and to be able to keep up - even if there is still room for improvement.
Birdy on the racetrack
We finally hit the track on Friday! Unfortunately, we missed the slot for the skidpad due to some problems. But in the afternoon we were able to drive "Acceleration" successfully and on Saturday we had "AutoCross".
In post-scrutineering, however, there was another challenge for us and Birdy: our TSAL (Tractive System Active Light) was criticised and we had to constantly make improvements. Due to time constraints, we were therefore only able to complete two laps. On Saturday evening, there was a lot of uncertainty as to whether our times would be recognised at all. But then came the good news: we were able to submit a TSAL that complied with the rules and our times were recognised! An incredible success and a great performance by our team in the pit, who fixed the problems in no time at all and thus secured us valuable points.
We then started the endurance race on Sunday morning. Our Birdy completed 8 laps before technical problems brought our car to a standstill. Despite this setback, we are proud of our performance. It was an incredible experience to be part of FSG and work alongside the best teams in the world.
Now we are looking ahead and preparing for the next event in Italy.
